online flight booking charges more for 2 people

Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help me with this query. Trying to book 2 adults on a flight. Got fare of £62 all inclusive when searching for one adult but as soon as you repeat the search for 2 adults the fee goes up to £89.90 each. How crazy is that?
Not sure if I am brave enough to book one person and then another separately...wonder if that would work? Has this happened to anyone else? The website I am using is Travelsupermarket and it is a BA flight.
Thanks
Sparkly

I think this has been answered many times. There will be a limited number of fares allocated to agents at each price level. If there are insufficient seats left to meet the booking, ALL seats will be quoted at the next best price.
you should still shop around to see if other agents have seats at the lower fare.0 -
Seats are sold off in blocks ie 1st 20 so much next 20 so much, hence the increase.
So you could be getting a quote for seat 20 & 21 hence why your being quoted the dearer price.
You could just buy 1 ticket at the cheaper price then purchase another at the dearer price.
I did this last year i needed 4 flights 4 was coming up more expensive than 2 so i thought i will order them in 2 sets of 2. The 1st 2 came out cheap, but the 2nd 2 came out in the dearer price bracket. But i wasn't bothered as i just clubbed the total cost together and divided by 4.
But it's up to you.0 -
where are you wanting to go, when, how may people and for how long oh and where do you want to fly from0

Book 2 seperate tickets

Oh you already said you didnt fancy that idea ...Theres a link on here somewhere for the BA sale that might help bring the cost downIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Thanks everyone- I really appreciate your responses - sorry if this has been asked before. Saint Chris I am going from Manchester to Malaga 25 March - 8 April . 2 people.

£90 (or more!) seems to be the going rate now I'm afraid. Unless you have some Airmiles? £66 plus 500 AM.0

do a search for maybe 8/10 seats. that way you know plenty are available. Then you can do your 2 seperate bookings whithout worrying about availability.I've seen us have 4 seperate one way bookings to keep the price down0

Thanks folks,
I have just booked two flights separately - got one at £62 and one at £89.90 and I am pretty happy with that. Feel more clued up now. Was really surprised at the price differences generally even for the same flight(I am a bit of a novice at this flight booking business).
Cheers
