Hi
I am trying to get to Nice on the May bank holiday weekend, yep the Monacco Grand Prix weekend I have been informed, for a wedding on the 29th May. yes that's the bank holiday day itself!!!
I don't want to/can't afford to pay £350 return for two for travel only *plus* a car and hotel for a couple of days, and was hoping someone could guide me to any more sensible routes or ideas??
Many thanks

Eurostar to Paris then TGV to Nice?
Try https://www.sncf.com for train details (there's an English option if you don't understand French).
For Hotels try Opodo or a similar site but if you are there at Grand Prix weekend then cheap accomodation will not be easy to find!0 -
Ryanir fly to Toulon which the next nearest airport to Nice. All you have to do then is work your way across the riviera. An excellent train service operates between St. Raphael and Nice but getting to St. Raphael might be a bit more difficult. Either way, the flight will definitly be cheaper.
Look at the forums on https://www.tripadvisor.com and get some advice there. Theres some really good French Riviera specialists there (not that there aren't any here!!)If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -

Ryanair fly to Genoa and Turin in italy, you could get a train from there.
I think the cheapest kind of accommodation is probably a Hostel. http://www.fuaj.org/eng/hostels/aj_fiche.php?aj_id=182
Do searches at https://www.hotelscomparison.com and https://www.hotel-connect.co.uk
Toulon airport is near Hyeres http://www.var.cci.fr/aeroport/english/map.asp?idrub=528Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks for the ideas, I will look into them. I am struggling with some of the trains, as either they don't have trains, or as in Eurostars case, you can't look at May just yet! They only go up to April on their site....not sure why or if I'm doing something wrong....0
