So would you rather know about a grabbit a little in advance (ie a day or so in this case) or once its started and other folk are already grabbing all they can  ?

    so where's the grabbit?

Nearly every other one of your posts say the same thing.
Do you spend your time on here just waiting for someone to post something in the wrong place or posting a duplicate??

    Its so boring!

Can't be as boring has having to type these messages to explain every so often. Not as boring as trying to look at all my posts - why does it bother YOU so much? And if you didn't bump up threads like this by posting further, you might reduce my boring posts. And the board guides (volunteers) then have less work to do. Everyone wins!

As for balletshoes's post, if someone has a concrete date for start of the sale, great. Someone coming on here and asking "anyone know when it starts?" brings in loads of speculation and "ooh, I want to know too" messages that probably prevent people finding real bargains. And if someone does post the info, then you trawl through looking for it - with a much greater chance of missing it.

The sticky at the top of the board is there to stop this kind of rubbish. Finding a needle you've dropped on the floor is hard enough without someone picking it up and tossing it into a haystack. Not rocket science. Nor is the fact that Boots is more than likely to have a sale. And that someone will post about it when that happens. Which brings me back to my point - this thread is UNNECESSARY.

This is not advising a grabbit in advance, however you choose to put it. The answer to the OP is still only a date, not advising of a grabbit. You are contradicting yourself. Sid Harper is correct.

Ha ha yes very funny. What this thread doesn't do is help people find current bargains. See the guidelines at the top of the forum.

Funnily enough, people come to Grabbit looking for current bargains, rather than to answer peoples' general questions. And volunteer board guides end up doing the clean up.

So when it starts, please do come here and give us some examples of the great bargains to be had. Until then, there is no grabbit.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • Funnily enough, when I read the title of this thread, I pretty much immediately understood that it was a question.

And that led me to believe that if I clicked on the link, then I would perhaps find out when Boots were having the sale on toys, so that I could get a little advance warning and maybe plan to spend half an hour of my time checking out any potential bargains.

I'm aware that other people may have misread the title completely and taken it to be a grabbit - not.

There is so much nitpicking and hair-splitting on this board, it's unreal! Surely people can choose which threads to read if the title is clear enough - and this one certainly was. Yes, get rid of the threads that are completely irrelevant - like those 'captive women' ones that appear every few hours - but this one IS relevant to my way of thinking.

You won't believe it - but many readers have a subscription - we get every bit of nonsense interspersed with what seems like the occasional real grabbit filling up inboxes.

Know when the sale is? Post it. Don't know or want to know? Wait until someone puts it up, go and find out and post it, or ask in the right place.

I phoned up .com and asked the adviser he said 'I really shouldn't be telling you this but we got info down today saying 50% of starts 24th December'
Hopefully this includes toys and hopefully he was telling the truth !!
    Good luck

But it has been posted! I understood the above post to mean that the 50% off sale, according to a SA at Boots.com, is starting on Christmas Eve. I thought that post was helpful  .
