  • How many months are you going to have to survive on smp????

I say i survived but think thats how my debts have racked back up, i wasnt as prepared as you are!!!!

Its a pity we cant do "foreigners" like trades people ie painters, mechanics etc..........my brother gets offered loads of painting jobs (as thats what he does;)) and could earn a fortune on the side, but never does as he cant be bothered!!! makes me so mad...... i even said i would be his apprentice for the day for 25% of what he gets (which seems fair to me when he was looking at a fair few hundred quid for the outside of someones house) but nope, didnt want to do it. He too is in lots of debt...........i blame my genes, it obviuosly runs in the family:rotfl:

i found the mbaz thread a while ago and am still in awe that she did it!!!!!!! might have to find it again and re read, and jot down some tips...........

Looks good, but how are you going to get your food for the month with £18.09?????? or have i missed something??? or is this just for this month?????

Um I think she's feeding her cat potatoes :)

Mrs P well done on the omg lets look in the cupboard - to be hoenst the more you stay out of the supremarket the easier it will be to not spend.

We have read through the mazb one and it does wrok - just bluddy scary. But if you can break even then think how much better you will feel

If you can't manage I will have to start sending you food parcels :) Orkney fudge, Orkney wine, Orkney beer, Tatties and seafood - that should be OK and of course some lovely eggs but \I am not sure they post well......

Want any more tomato plants as i have loads :) they post a treat

  • I did the sneaky water down the full fat milk to make semi skimmed but the OH didnt like it, the same wateryness (is that even a word??) as semi skimmed but still tasted like full fat. I thought it was alright myself.........

I agree with fay, the less time spent in a supermarket the better, i now take th eOH with me as he runs round the shop with the kids and the trolley and i can only carry so much in my arms!!!!!!:rotfl:used to annoy the hell out of me but now its a godsend!!!! (plus everytime i put something in the trolley i get the "this is gonna cost a bloody fortune" mutter)

I now use soya mince dried stuff <99p for 500g - and put in half a cup with the meat mince for spag bog, chilli, mince and tatties, shepherds pie

it almost doubles it and no one noticed here until i told them cos you just shove it in when you are browning the mince so it absobs all the flavours :) almost doubles up the mince you have without really noticing :)

dont use lentils as they are always detected
