in Credit cards
OK I know I am a bit nice but dim but had the shock of my life tonight.
We had anumber of different credit cards and did like most here who are trying to sort themselves out we ran them alll up and in july of tbis year sat down and totalled it all up
Our payments were £1000 a month and we were bearly covering the min payments. Well with the help of MIL and FIL along with a two hour lecture they gave us an interest free loan .( which surprisingly with the interest gone we are doing well and are making a dent in it) . . Thank god. But we had to keep one of the credit cards which has £7000 on it
We had a statement today and noticed they had put on a late payment charge which was their mistake and they rectified it straight away. BUT the nice cs man said do you realise your APR
29.9%
we never noticed it had gone up that high. but they did offer us a deal -28% thanks but no thanks phoned lloyds who i have an empty card with and they gave us 2.4% for 6 months with 3% trans fee even with that we'll be better off for the sum of £600 over 6 months......and then will have to play the card tart game
:T :T
Thanks to all who post here and helped us to stand up and say

And remember NEVER to spend on that card, as anything you spend will be charged at the maximum interest rate, and any payments you make will go to clear the low rate balance first. So you'll end up with a hefty amount of interest building up which you won't be able to do anything about!
Also, make sure you never miss any payments or accidentally pay less than the minimum... or the whole balance will revert to the highest rate, as the CC companies are quick to cancel promotional rates if you slip up.0
