Unlocking a mobile DONGLE

Does anyone know or have had their mobile dongle unlocked??

I know its not illegal (same as having a phone unlocked)

just wondered if anyone has done it and how?
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly


I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

    I flashed my Huawei "3" Pebble with the firmware from Huawei's website.

    I got it from their website - it appears they've removed the links. Sadly I had it saved on a Linux partition which I wiped some time ago.

    Are you talking about making it "Sim Free" (which is legal!)
    or taking a block off of a mobile device which has had the IMEI blocked (VERY Illegal)??

    no just making the dongle sim free (old one i have that is now no longer used).....i get free internet access with my iphone and was wondering if i can use the sim card in the dongle (O2 sim in 3 dongle) when i go away with my laptop.......so all legal and allowed;)

    I believe that as part of your contract with O2 (I a assuming you are on pay monthly) then you are not allowed to use the sim card in anything but the phone.
    ...All usage must be for your private, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not use your SIM Card:
    • in, or connected to, any other device including modems;...
