Easy peasy. Just get a good hammer and chisel and cut out brick from the outside. This of course depends on the size of the air brick but you might have to bash in half a brick either side as well. Then knock through after first checking no electrical wires, pipes etc. Stick air brick on outside and plaster vent or some other form of vent on the inside. If you don't mind the plastic ones inside then you can use something like no nails to stick it on.
Just make sure you are coming through on the inside exactly where you want to be.Don't buy the Sun.0 -
Can anyone tell me the purpose of an air brick? I have a couple in my house and they are causing a draft and had thought about blocking them up.
There's one in the kitchen so one in the dining room.0 -
They allow airflow.
They'll tend to be sited in rooms containing a gas appliance or below the level of ground floor wooden floors.
If the original reason for their installation in a room is still present they should be left unblocked.
Blocking below floor level airbricks will cause damp problems for the floor above.
Safest bet is don't block them.0
