Child benefit when second child arrives query

Hi guys, hope you are all well. Need some advice please; From January our Child benefit for my daughter will be £20 per week (£80 a month) - Since we started getting this, it's paid into the Halifax 10% account and i make it up to £100 per month.

Now next year our second will be born :) - but i have heard that it will not be equal to 1x child benefit? does anyone know how much?

Also will this be a separate payment, so we can start a savings fund for our new arrival or will it be bundled with the first payment, making it harder to split?

Many thanks for any help.

Happy Holidays

I think it's £13.20 and they pay it as one payment

you can have the 2nd child benefit paid into a second/seperate account.
You do not have to have both paid into the same account.

Incorrect, payment is made for the award as a whole not each individual child, there can only be 1 bank/building soc. account per award.

If you make the claim for the second child under your partner's name you can give a different bank/building soc. account as in that case there'd be seperate awards for each child.

Possibly worth noting that the second award in this case would still be paid at the lower rate though, as they look at number of children in the household/family rather than number on the claim.

Very interesting I wonder if a 2 parent family with each parent receiving CB could claim IS instead of JSA. After all each parent would be able to receive home responsibilities protection, right?
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

It would be hard to prove you were single parents if your both living at the same address.
