Whats your best prize of 2008

Right, I thought I'd get all nostalgic and create a thread in which we can reminisce on the year thats passing.... I want to know:-

1) What your single best Prize of 2008 has been, if you have won more than one best prize then think about what your best one was and why....

2) What you would most like to win in 2009 (or indeed in the last few days of 2008!)

I will start!

Best Prize:- A trip with the Chelsea Squad to Istanbul to watch the champions league quarter final. It was the best prize for me out of several biggies because I know it was money cant buy, and despite staying in some special hotels in the past I will probably never again stay in a room worth £800 a night or drink red wine at £50 a glass!

I would most like to Win:- I would most like to win in 2009 a holiday to somewhere I haven't been (with flights), I dont mind if its 7 nights self catering in Cyprus flying with a budget airline (as long as the room is clean!) or 14 nights five star luxury in Australia/South America/Dubai...... I have the travel bug! (although of course I would take Australia over Cyprus!).

I havent been comping long so my best prize so far was my monkey and mysterious cities dvd sets
what i want to win in 2009?? anything winning is great especially when its things i cant afford so comping fairy smile my way!

My best prize this year was a family weekend at Alton Towers (taken this year but actually won at the end of 2007) It was the best because I would never have spent that kind of money on something like this (£750)

We splashed out on the Chocolate suite (for the kids of course not me)
Had a fantastic meal in the Restaurant on the Saturday night. Theme park & Water Park tickets for two days, & lots of treats for the kids. An amazing weekend! It was also a chance for my "daft comping hobby" to treat the whole family.

Sadly the Chocolate suite didn't live up to expectations but after some correspondence with Merlin entertainment they sent us a huge box of sweeties & chocolate & complimentary tickets to Thorpe Park & we had another fantastic family day out! :j:j



I would most like to win : A bit of cash to help my daughter return to Kenya. She spent a year fundraising for charity last year & spent two weeks last summer with a group from her school working in an Orphanage in Karundas Kenya. She is desperate to return this summer, but the cost is £1000 and it is simply beyond us this year as her brother has already been promised a school trip. She's trying to find a Saturday job whilst doing her GCSE's so that she can fund a large proportion of the trip herself but I would dearly love to win some cash to help her out.

my best win this year was a VIP trip to le mans it was fantastic and cost £2500!!

what would i like to win next year.....some money would come in handy as im getting married:D

I only started comping in Feb of 2008 and never expected to win a thing. My family were very sceptical but then the small wins started to turn up. can you imagine their faces then when ITV phoned in july, the day after my 40th Birthday, to inform me that I had won £10k. i was on total shock and so were my family. this therefore has to be my best win ever.
the other good win was back in November when my darling 13 year old son George won a Toshiba laptop for a writing competition, (through this fab site) I was very, very proud of him

Best: Was a week in Beverly Hills staying at the Regent Beverly Wilshire (as seen in Pretty Woman!). Lived like a king for a week and took in a day trip to San Francisco too, as well as going to see Beckham play for LA Galaxy;

For 09: Any other holiday. I've been so focused on getting rid of my debts, I can't really afford a holiday at the moment (indeed, the LA trip was my first holiday in a decade!)

Best win: Family holiday in a 4 star hotel to tuscany with spending money and car hire, best bit is we are allowed to book it for Next August!!!!!

My best win was a £1000 diamond which I had made in to a lovely ring, as my next best prize was a set of kitchen scales, I would just be gratful to win anything next year! But a TV or a holiday would be fantastic.

My best prize was £500 John Lewis vouchers from Big Snap mobile. My second best was a Butlins holiday, brilliant because we could not have afforded a family holiday next year.
I only started comping at the very end of May so I am thrilled with the things I have won, and wondering why I never comped before

Best prize....easy.....tix to see Roger Waters, not the most expensive of my wins but the best night EVER .

What would i like next year............the ultimate would be a car as im hoping to pass my test early next year.......or a bit of cash to go towards buying a second hand car.
