Can I get terrestrial through a cable+wireless box?

Hi I have this on the wall in our 2nd bedroom: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g15/Kavanne/IMG_2103.jpg?t=1229701281

I understand it's for virgin tv but there's 2 ports going out, one male one and one female one (but the female one is like for a very thin pin to go into, it looks like). Is one for cable and one for say normal terrestrial? I'd like to have a TV in the bedroom but we can't afford to sign up to fee paying virgin, it would be nice if we could have freeview through that box though.

Anyone know?

Thanks!
Kavanne

that's a shame :( We have a freeview box in the living room through the roof aerial.

I thought it was too good to be true !!

Any more input would be appreciated. Why are there 2 outputs anyway? Surely only 1 is needed for TV? what is the other for?

i could be wrong but the reason why i said what i did is that the box on the wall is virgin so im guessing for you to use it it might have to be activated or whatever by virgin

  • One will be for the TV feed and other is for broadband.
You could have a look on ebay to see if anyone is selling a virgin tv box, but if you sign up for virgin the box is not yours, you only rent it off Virgin.

I thought the 2nd box on the left was for broadband?

Hang on kavanne the box in the picture is a cable and wireless box and not a telewest or a virgin labelled box,
  • The box on the left is a virgin/NTL etc telephone line the box to the right as we look at the photo is a Cat5 socket. From the looks of it someone has set up a home wired network. That is separate from the Virgin install.

I know but cable and wireless were taken over by virgin right? And I know the previous owners had virgin. There are no virgin labelled boxes anywhere just 2x cable and wireless boxes, which I am guessing were installed before the takeover.
