Cardstream Payment Service Provider - Anyone paid via?

Options
Just about to make a small purchase at an online snooker site and noticed that it uses Cardstream as their payment provider, which I don't recognise (usually worldpay, etc). Just wondering if anyone else had used them as I have heard of a number of other providers (nova???) charging interest

  • Just saw this Humfer - bit late but worth replying to clarify!

You don't need to worry as a customer buying something online because the PSP doesn't charge you anything. They charge the merchant who's selling it to you a few pence for giving the purchase a secure authorisation code and the banks then just transfer the payment. The PSPs themselves never touch the money - they just authorise the banks to transfer it.

I've used Cardstream as a merchant and they're good, friendly - and cheap. Les than 10p for an authorisation - and you can get down further with volume. They also have a great "up-time" record, which is important to my business.

Hi, I just stumbled across your thread. We are looking around for a provider, can you tell me do they charge you to reserve an amount and charge you again for the transaction when it happends?

    Thanks
