Guests getting to wedding

As the bride am I supposed to sort out how guests get to my wedding??

I think no.... Just wondering what other peoples opinions are.

A friend of mine sent me a text asking if I could sort out a lift for her. I have enough to do

ha send her the number of a cab company!
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire
  • Good grief, as if you haven't got enough to do already! No, you definitely are not required to give your mates lifts to your own wedding!!!
  • If it was an elderly relative or someone maybe or someone travelling from abroad and unable to drive or afford a cab maybe but not someone who will probably know half the invitees anyway.

I still disagree - they can ask the mother of the bride or a bridesmaid, or anyone else they know is going for advice, but not the bride herself!

Smartie - you don't have to arrange transport for the guests, it is up to them to find their own way there (exceptional circumstances would be guests from abroad who are staying in an hotel - then you would have to arrange for them to get from hotel to church etc. - the same goes for granny but then the family would organise that).

If your friend wants to go to the wedding then she must find her own way there.

I was going to attend my friend's wedding in Italy (circumstances now prevent me from going) but I had already decided where I was going to fly from, how I was going to get to the airport and which hotel I would be staying in - although I hadnt actually booked it and I didn't dare ask her because she has enough on her plate.

    Most definitely not your problem.

Last time I had to travel a long distance to a wedding the invite included a list of places to stay, of varying budgets, but they didn't provide train times, airlines that flew there or a road map.

    Some people!
  • When we got married we actually did make sure everyone could get from the church to the reception! Our Ushers had a list of people with cars and people needing lifts and they put the two together, they did a wonderful job and everyone got to the reception. They did, however, have to find their own way home!

I suppose it depends on the distance - we are having ours 60 miles away so we are having a bus put on for the people who can't drive.

But if it was closer, I would expect people to cadge their own lifts lol.

  • I'd say let her sort herself out - I even forgot to sort out how the groom was getting there :rotfl:.

Actually thinking about it I don't know how he got from the hotel to the hall :o.

Will she be wanting you to sort out what she should wear next?
