EMA stopped for being a late for school

it doesn't have to be packed for more than a couple of stops beyond where this lass gets on -- we have the same problem in that we're an hour on the bus into town, but only 4 stops before one of the more popular secondary schools for the area.and neither do I believe both those buses are packed to the rafters and not letting people on for the last (possibly several if it is too far for her to walk instead?) stops.
She simply needs to look at the timetable and decide how best to get there in time, and then get herself out of bed, and sorted earlier.
So the buses are often packed with students at our stop (and won't stop to pick up), but are more than half empty four stops later. And this can be the case with several buses prior to start of school, as some of the pupils are having to get earlier buses in order to get on one (because the later ones are already packed with other students).
As this is only 5-10 mins down the road, I've been known to walk to the stop used for the school, so I can get on after the students get off. Perhaps the OPs DD could tackle it that way as a starting point? But if she needs to get up and out earlier to guarantee being at college on time, then I'm afraid that's what she should be doing.Cheryl0 -

I realise it can happen but I do not believe there are not other options open to the OP's dd. I used to do the same as you when I was at school (many moons ago admittedly!)
They really need to look at their options and work around this. Fighting against something that will happen time and time again is futile imo.
You got around it clearly, as did I, and as does my dd.0 -
could your child walk or cycle to college instead?0

Is any part of the school (library etc) open earlier than normal starting time?
Perhaps she could leave much earlier and study before school begins, and on a bad travel day she merely gets there on time?
I've commuted all my life, from secondary school through to 25 years of jobs and consider it normal to aim to be in 30 - 45 mins before 'official' start time. On the odd occasion I have been late the delays have been so bad they made the local news. It might not be so appropriate on buses, but certainly on trains the earlier you go the less problems you seem to get anyway.0
