Can I have some more advice please. Having spent hours downloading Panda Platinum 2006 Internet Security last night (on dial-up) I have noticed some connection problems. I am on BT Yahoo Anytime and have an ex directory home telephone number. When I dial-up I get a warning from BT Yahoo (I downloaded their Connection Manager a while ago) saying BT Yahoo Application blocked making silent call c/program files/panda software/panda platinum. This warning is every time I dial up. Is this something I should be worried about or should I ignore it. Also I am getting (not every time I dial up but most times) BT Yahoo possibly no system resources cannot continue must close, I have never had this message before so don't know why this is. Also when I disconnect from the internet I have to shut my computer down completely and re-start it or else if I try and dial-up again without shutting down my computer completely I get the dial-up connection box with the following: Connection settings ok, cannot connect as modem or other connecting device is already in use or is not configured properly and I am unable to dial-up but I know I have disconnected from the internet so my modem shouldn't be in use. I also have premium rate numbers barred from my telephone line through BT so I wouldn't have thought it was a dialler.
Also I keep getting a warning from Panda saying my firewall is on medium and to check it, I go and check it and it says it is ok, I don't know how to put it on to high protection, is medium ok.
I have run in safe mode etc Ewido and Microsoft and done a Panda full scan and nothing can be found.
Again, I would ask that answers are sent with very basic steps to be taken to put things right as I am a complete novice and do not understand much about computers. Thank you in advance

Get rid of Panda, its a nightmare IMHO.
What about that downloader patch from a while ago.
And stop posting duplicate threads if you want it to be at the forefront
under the original post just put bump or something.0 -
Sorry Intel, I am not used to the site only recently started posting, I shall do as you suggest and add extra on, I didn't realise..
I paid £41 yesterday so I don't really want to get rid of Panda, I am not good with computers so wanted peace of mind, but obviously I haven't got it now...
The downloader patch was for microsoft windows updates which I did download but this is a different problem.0 -
I did however suggest a while back what to get instead of Panda.. Oh well.
The BT message is just that BT connection wants data from your PC
and the firewall is letting you know.
Did you run or save the Panda software from its location, i.e have you got it saved on your PC, did you uninstall the old panda first or was it just an upgrade.??????0 -
I downloaded Panda Platinum 2006 Internet Security onto my desktop. Went into Add/Remove programmes and got rid of the old Panda 2005 and then installed Panda 2006 so it is on my desktop.0
