I've been running Spybot S&D and Adaware for some time and have not kept up to date as to whether they are still considered ok.
Should I be looking elsewhere? Needless to say, I'm only interested in free-to-download stuff.

Malwarebytes is one of the best now and its free but you can pay to unlock real time scanning http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php0

Make sure you use the IMMUNISE feature in SPYBOT (Stops nasties at the source):idea:0 -

Not for spyware that im aware of. But I can say with confidence that Malwarebytes and Superanti spyware are the best you can get for free:idea:0
