I rang earlier to transfer my M+S balance to Flybe, and was told I needed to give them a sort code and account number as well as credit card number.

M+S accounts have a 12-digit number (different to the card number, as it covers all your different accounts), and I can't find any reference anywhere to a sort code. Flybe said that all Mastercards have a sort code and account number.

I've transferred balances off the M+S card before, and don't recall having to provide this - can anyone shed any light?

The M&S card number and account number (both 16-digits) are linked within M&S, ie you can use either (personally I'd use the card number, NOT the account number).

The sort code and collection account number are shown on your M&S statement BGC tear-off slip and, IIRC, are also shown on the reverse of the statement.

Thanks - I've now found the details in the Ways to Pay bit - but they're different to the ones on the paying-in slip!

Think I'll have to give M+S a ring - maybe theyll give me an offer if I tell them I need the details for a BT!!
