Capital One - anyone else have a delayed payment this month?

Hi folks,
I've got a Capital One Platinum Mastercard with a permanent 6.9% balance transfer deal. I merrily pay off a chunk over a few months then transfer more expensive card debts onto it, and eventually it'll be the only card I have left, fingers crossed!
This month, my min payment was due on Wed 17th Dec, so I paid it as per usual via my online Smile bank account on Thurs 11th Dec. Both banks are part of the newer speedy electronic payment system which was introduced earlier this year, and my payment last month left my current account on Nov 11th and was credited to Capital One on Nov 12th.
This month, however, the 17th came and went, and there was still no sign of my payment being credited by Capital One. I sent them a secure message through the website to say I feared the payment was lost in the ether somewhere, and they replied that they would respond to me in writing within two weeks (!).
The payment did, however, mysteriously turn up on my account late on the 18th Dec - I'd been checking my Cap One balance online every few hours. Strangely, it has a transaction date of Dec 12th and a posted date of Dec 18th next to it.
My question is whether anyone knows if Cap One are as prone to chopping promo deals due to late payments as other banks are?
