Will house heat up quicker if I turn the boiler temp up?

Hi guys
Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed, especially the ever-helpful momeysavingplumber.
I've now turned the boiler up to max & the pump on to its highest speed. As it's been the weekend it'll take a few days to see any improvement, but I would guess it's going to make the difference I want.
If not, and even so, I think I'll go for the programmable room stat eventually. A problem with a motorised valve means I have the heating constant switch on all the time & the timing is controlled with a normal timer on the plug socket that feeds the programmer.
If I go for a programmable stat it'll enable me to exert more control on where & when the heating comes on.
It'll also save me buying a motorised valve which I believe aren't the most reliable bits of kit in the world anyway.
Thanks again.0
