Yes, but the colley birds would be bigger and therefore have more flesh on them, representing better value. Still, never mind.
Actually, just remembered...I think in a previous posting you aired concerns about your husband having to deal with 'dirty birds'. :eek:perhaps best to stick with budgies."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

poor OH ..... was he very disapointed at the lack of dirty birds for him to deal withI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
I'm not sending them back though, it's just a sort of store cupboard challenge, making the best of what you find you have. If we never ate the odd things that came to hand, none of us would have ever tried rat, and just imagine what a loss that would be?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I'd sell them on personally, budgies retail at about £15 each round here, thats a big grocery shop in our house, given you have four of them.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

Best get a card in the newsagent's window. Did you say they came in a box? A budgie cage would have been a bit more useful! Get it done today, you might solve someone's last minute present buying dilemma. The population of the UK is getting older so there must be many a retired person who would like a budgie for company."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. ooooooh! sounds like a real Up Your Income opportunity here .... what a shame you only have the fourI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
It's a shame you didn't get the colly birds:
.........................
You could have put them to one side for a pie!
You really would need more than just the four though, and goodness knows where you might find more of them at this time of year.....anyone got any ideas?
What have you done with the latest group of chickens then? Are you keeing them alive for the eggs at the moment? Might be a sensible plan - you never quite know when you might end up with unexpected guests over the christmas period and at least the eggs would give you scope for omlettes etc. should the need arise.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've always thought that the best way to forestall this sort of thing would just be to get him a couple of them.
It's a bit like giving cigarettes to a 12 year old as aversion therapy, seems very exciting at first, but they soon run out of puff.0 -

Well, if there are too many eggs for you to use yourself, you might be able to flog free range eggs quite easily. I think there was a thread here about how much people charge for theirs. that would be another money spinner, along with the budgies. My dh's family always have boiled eggs on Christmas morning.
... and don't come banging on my door if you end up with a surplus of 'dirty birds' either. Have enough trouble with my dh as it is !"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I seem to remember from French at school, that a french hen is a 'poule' ... and from my memory of french slang, you are definitely at risk of ending up having to deal with dirty birds rather than having a nice flock of hens and lots of fresh eggs!0
