Midge61 beat me to it, you don't need a churn to make butter, your mixer will do fine. Just be careful when it starts to form - here's a step-by-step guide.
Could I also suggest a nice soda bread to use up the buttermilk? It's very easy to make and very popular here in Ireland. Here's a nice recipe for white and brown soda bread. You could make scones either, nice for mid-morning snacks.
I'm intrigued, why the sudden interest in HM butter? Did Tesco's have a big glut of whoopsied cream late on Christmas Eve?I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Buttermilk makes the most delicious scones as well. If you really had a surplus you could put some in the BM in place of water to avoid wasting it."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

or
b. left home in an attempt to get away from the unwanted livestock
of
c. upset her neighbours so much she's had to leave home, taking her livestock and 'guests' with her?
or
d. been dealing with the council/RSPCA etc in an attempt to explain the sudden conversion of her home to a smallholding/slaughterhouse with a small hotel attached?0 -

My theory is she's been nobbled by the noise pollution people - all those birds must've made a heck of a racket, and now she's getting people turning up as well....And if rumour is to be believed, some of them may have musical instruments with them.
