oops may have paid twice?!?

I think I may have paid my amex bill twice with my debit card-I went to do it yesterday, but had issues with the verified by visa thingy (WHY do I have to have uppercase in my password-I always forget it )
so then I wasnt sure if I had paid it, and it wasnt showing on my online banking or my amex so I just paid it again. OOPS. I had set up direct debit but when I did it they didnt give me the option to put whole bill so it was minimum payment, so have just paid balance twice! I presume there is nothing I can do about it?
Ah well, makes for a teeny tiny bill next month I suppose

you could give them a bell and rely on the their possible good will to get it back, but if you havent put your account in credit with them, the chances of you being able to demand a refund are slim to none i would have thought..

You could always just use the credit card to pay for the petrol / food etc this month to use the same amount again if you need to?
