Blown my 0% Deal

I transferred my £1500 balance over to the Virgin cc for 16 months 0% interest but unfortunately I missed my first payment and the direct debit I set up did not catch it in time. So now I am no longer on 0%, I'm not sure what rate I have got but the estimated interest for next month is £17+

I'm guessing I'll have to transfer to another card but which one!? Or do I have another option?

Ring them up and plead insanity they may give it to you back, there's been loads on here who like you missed the 1st payment and got the 0% deal back.

Yes, I would give them a call and be exceedingly polite and grovel. You may get the 0% back and the £12 fee refunded
  • Thanks. I did ring them and managed to get the 0% rate back however I did not get the interest or late payment refunded.

Now I must make it my priority for 09 to pay off the balance of £1500!

That's a good result. MBNA are quite good with that. My first payment was late owing to a change of back accounts, and as soon as I realised I phoned up and apologised profusely, and they reinstated the intro offer and refunded the £12 bounced DD and the £12 late payment fee. It definitely pays to be nice!
