Is it just my experience or has anyone else noticed that their customer service has gone really down hill? I moved some time ago and updated my address and telephone details as soon as I moved which was 3 years ago, I moved out of my Dads house into a house with friends. I missed a payment which I know is my own fault and I do not begrudge them telephoning me to let me know and ask for payment. However, most calls they seem to give me are silent, I am also not at home during the day as I am usually at lectures, in the library or busy organising union society activities as I am a society officer. When they couldn't get through as I was not home, they would then phoned my dad's house 3 -4 times a day even though I have told them I dont live there any more as has my dad. I phoned them several times to change this number but they still have not done this. I phoned today to double check which number they had and they still have not updated my telephone number, even though last time I phoned to complain they assured my details had now been updated. :mad:. Any one else having problems with lazy customer support staff of capital one?

    i find them very unplesant on the phone and unwilling to help i have had the card 3 months and wondering weather to leave as its that bad
    you cant change yesterday
    but you can make tomorrow better

    I totally agree. I have had a card with them for many years. I find the CS very rude unhelpful and speak to you as if you are dirt, especially the overseas call centre. If you go over your limit and you do not receive paper statements they restrict your online view of your statement so you have to phone them to ask for what you cannot view. This seems to me as a sure way of them building up more and more charges on someones account. I have changed back to paper statements and don't bother with their web site anymore. If I could move to another card i would do. The only reason I have it is for protection when buying goods if anything goes wrong and I don't have a very large limit.

    It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)

  • I used to have a Capital One credit card and i completely agree about CS being useless and unhelpful. I once used my card in Matalan and then when i looked on my online statement, i noticed that Matalan had taken the payment twice therefore putting me over my credit limit, so i rang Capital one to explain this to them and to see if there was anything they could do, and to be honest i've never known anybody be so rude and unhelpful. They basically told me there was nothing they could do and that it was my fault and i would have to wait until Matalan refunded it back on to my card and that in the meantime i would be charged for being over my credit limit. It was shortly after this that i stopped using my Capital One card! Sorry to rant on....i just really dislike Capital One lol.
