Windows update KB915597?

I see that Windows updated automatically on my PC yesterday.

I can see a reference KB915597 (Definition 1.49.523.0) as being successfully installed.

Can anyone confirm whether this is the important patch for the IE7 security weakness issue highlighted recently or do I have to find and install that myself?

The article reference is KB960714 for the patch that fixed the problem you mention.

I'm fairly sure it's KB960714 that you need.

I received it as an auto-update earlier today.

That's weird. Why haven't I received it, similarly, on 'auto update'..?

You were probably just unlucky with the time of day that you turned your PC on. If there was a peak in downloads from US users and no spare capacity on the servers then you would have missed out.

Quite often just rebooting the PC later in the day can force it to do another check and "find" the update.
