Assuming you're talking about streaming programmes in your browser, have you installed Flash?
No i havent installed anything yet.Does i Player automatically detect no flash is installed (it doesnt mention on the bbc website anything about flash but the embedded i Player doesnt appear, just an option to download the program to be watched).-....-.---.---. ..... .- -.-.

It uses Flash to play streamed media, so I would assume that's your problem. I would have thought it would have told you you needed it, but there you go.0

Side note
Linux and Mac users can now download BBC shows to their PC's via iPlayers Desktop software...
