Aol has done the same to me taking money of my old card - it was only when my account got so overdrawn from AOL and bank charges that Barclays closed my account ( thats the only thing that really works ( AOL was happy enough to continue to charge me, knowing my complaints and cancellation request)

    - I have submitted my N1 form in to court already as AOL 'stole' quite a lot of money from my account.....

    this is my case

I did a SAR to AOL also - they seem they want to hold this information a secret, they could NOT provide anything regarding billings - ( I was expecting details billings, contracts, when the accounts was used, I am quite digusted by AOL/ CW behavior,- unless you don't mind wasting £10/11 to AOL, I would advise against, but then again I hope to use the fact they could provide me with any infor against them in court (">)

and make sure you write the cheque/PO to Carphone warehouse ( as it will delay the process as I wrote it to AOL which was a mistake)

Isn't paypal taking by direct debit? and not of your card?

Same problem - AOL was showing on my Amex card bill. I called amex, who swiftly gave me the number for AOL. Called AOL who confirmed it must be fraud. Rang Amex back and they debitted my card with the money paid, and said they'd take it up with AOL! I love that company!

OMG - I had the exact same response - that it must be fraud, when I noticed AOL helping themselves to my bank account

I'm with AOL and all your stories have scared me!! i have no plans to move from them anytime soon, but when i do i hope nothing like this happens to me. I have just checked my online statement and they take out by direct debit so hopefully if they do try something dodgy it would be easier to sort.

Hope you get it all sorted.

    Hi,

Why not just close your bank account, and then take AOL to court for any money they have taken after you requested cancellation of their service.

I took AOL to court, they settled just before the court hearing for £750.

Hi well heres the update. good news:j
But first to answer Lalon the only way the bank would close the account was if my daughter cleared the overdraft as she was ill and not working she had no money!
Now the good news the Ombudsman sorted it out! the bank has now credited my duaghters account with £900 this allows her to close the account and start afresh.
The bank finally treated it as fraud.
Many thanks to you all for your interest and help, also i found a helpful blog worth the read
and guess what its called ? I hate Aol.
