Parking On The Line

My Dad parked with his drivers side front wheel on the white line and got a ticket for £100 from a company in Birmingham with a very bed reputation (Midway Parks) The local paper,Council etc are always running stories about there abuse/interpretation of private clamping laws,
Anyway he asked my advise and i told him to throw it in the bin as i pointed out how will they chase there unpaid amount when they do not have his address and the only way they could get it was through the DVLA by the reg Number.
I pointed out that the DVLA were unlikly to give out his address to a private clamping company with such a bad reputation,How wrong i was,It is the DVLA who supply the Infomation,I could not believe it,Whats the point of the Government "cracking down" when it is there own department giving these cowboys thier ammunition.
The cowboy clampits have also decided that "Park in the designated bays" means Do Not Touch The White Line-Unbelievable.

Because DVLA earn a small fortune from it.
So what difference does it make? You still ignore the threats if you understand the sitch.

As Neil B said, ignore them. It's an unenforceble invoice."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I would ignore it,and put up with all the letters and phone calls,But once again the old and vunerable were targeted and you cannot expect people in their seventies to cope with the abuse and scare tactics used by modern day Debt Collection agencys.OH THE JOYS OF BEING SELF-EMPLOYED!! DCAs are powerless Many are just another desk in the ppc office.
I can't tell you what to do but - so if he was the victim of doorstep conmen or street muggers (it's not much different IMO) - you'd let it and the money go?
