I don't think i get that many junk emails each day, but i always use my hotmail address when i enter comps so that my 'normal' email address isn't clogged up. It doesn't really bother me that much (although i'd prefer all my emails to be winning ones!).

I get them too, in spite of doing as you do with third parties. In hindsight I should have opened a separate email account for comps etc.

Is that all..? ;) I've had 120+ so far today (14.30). I use a dedicated webmail account so it doesn't interfere with my ISP (real) email. I've never had a winning email that is easily missed. Although if I did, I wouldn't know, would I..?!:D
  • luckily this is a seperate account to my normal one but having to open 80 odd emails a day to see if theyre WEMs is driving me nuts lol especially when none of them are. i wish i could put a keep out WEMs only notice up :rotfl:

I get loads too but can usually tell if its a winning email or not so don't open most of them
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:
  • I use a hotmail account for my competitions. I always tick the box for no mail from third parties. I suppose the amount of mail you get back depends on how many competitions you enter.
The winning emails i have recieved usually have an attachment or have winner or something similar in the title. Every now and then i also unsubscribe from newsletters especially the daily ones.

You open them ALL?! I would never open them all - you never know which is gonna have a nasty attached!

I check my email at tea break in work (10.30ish) then at lunch 2ish and one final time at 5pm - and at random intervals between & after (I sound obssessed don't I :o)

I usually have a minimum of 80 emails each time - majority of them are binned straight away without opening, then I'm left with about 10-12 'interesting ones' which I open ;) out of those a few may have extra comps and throughout the week 1 may be a winner

Most WEMs are easy to spot

Cripes, no! Most of them are easy to tell whether they're WEMs or not, i.e. subject will contain Latest News, Last Few Days, etc. Those go straight in the bin!

I wish I'd made a list of'newsletter sign up' competitions, so I could unsub when the comp ended, but unfortuantely I didn't! When I get round to having a good clear-out, perhaps I'll start doing that.

I've only been comping since August, so I hate to think what it'll be like this time next year, haha!

Usually they are helpful enough to put "Winner" or "You have won" or something like that in the title, so you really don't need to open every email that you get.
