This is to get a rant off my chest. If anyone has any advice then great.

I ordered some books from Books Direct on the 5th December. One set of books is for a friend's grandchild christmas present. All of the books I ordered were showing as in stock. I telephoned Customer Services on the 9th to ask when to expect delivery. Lady told me to wait 5 - 10 working days.
So I telephoned today to see when I could expect delivery. I get told today "The New Year!!!" :eek: The reason, they are not expecting the books to arrive to them until Christmas Eve :mad: Apparantly on the 9th when I rang they only had depleting stocks and I should have been told that. :rolleyes:
So I asked the question, "Why on your website are you guaranteeing delivery on books for the 24th December on orders placed on the 21st if you cannot guarantee an order placed on the 5th December?" I also asked "Why are the books I ordered still showing as in stock on the website if they are not in stock?" Neither of my questions could be answered. All I got was apologies.

I have emailed Books Direct asking for an immediate response of my email. I get a bog standard reply saying someone will answer within the next 3 working days. What a crock of S**T.
If we were able to get the books elsewhere I'd have told them to stick the books and membership. But so far after an hour of trawling the internet we can not find anywhere selling the books. Bloody typical.

I've had the same thing recently with a sportswear firm. Stock on the website. Sale goods ordered on the 2nd December. No order arrives. Ring to chase it and am told it will be despatched on Monday 15th and arrive Wednesday. Did it? No. Have reordered from another firm now.

Is the stock still on their website? Yes. Will people who order it get their stuff?Probably not.

Luckily enough it wasn't for a present. Others won't be so lucky.
