Firstly, please don't direct me to other Tesco phone threads. None of the ones I've seen are useful to me.
I've received the letter like many other on here that I own them money.
Not been with them for about a year now and not had a letter before that I remember.
Apparently, I owe £142.23
I am almost certain all my payments had been made by direct debit, however, I used an online bank only at the time and have since closed that account and got a high street account so have no old statements.
I have phoned them and the lady wasn't helpful. All she said was that she will send out their proof that I owe them this money and she will put a note on the system to say I have phoned up.
Also interesting is that I moved house in April, way after I left Tesco, and the letter has come to my new house!
Any idea's what I can do to find out if infact my so called direct debits did come out or not?
I've not got that sort of money. I am out of work trying to support future wife and young child.
This is the last thing I bloody well need.

Lots of other people and me have got a similar letter. I left Tesco home a long time ago but Tesco claim I have an large oustanding balance on my account which has just come to light (2 years later ). I have asked them for a full statement and proof of debt. Luckily, I have paper copies of my Tesco home phone bills plus bank statements so I should be able to reconcile the statement to see if tesco are correct or not.0
