A Strange Baking Aftertaste

  • I'd go with the bicarb or baking powder too.I accidentally put just a little too much baking powder in my dumplings the other day and they had a terrible aftertaste.I was quite amazed how that teeny little bit made so much difference.

Bicarb gives a funny taste, always makes me feel like it's drying my mouth out and sort of catches at the back of your throat!

Good luck with your baking x

  • Thank you all for your help, I'll let you know how I get on :D
  • If you're a penguin, should you not be handing out regurgitated fish as your offering.... I'm going to a party tonight and that's what I'm taking..... Well, smoked salmon and cream cheese mini bagels actually...
  • I'm misunderstood...and I don't think smoked salmon and chocolate cookies would work :D

They sounds interesting...never really played around with little starters and snacks like that. I should really try something for crimbo week.
  • Well I've just made some shortbread and that came out great, no nasty aftertaste. I'll be making more cookies from crimbo / boxing day, so with no bicarb in sight, it should be good.
