Be Cheeky
I switched my supplier for Electricity, having been with Southern Electric for many years, and partly due to a bank slip up and partly due to overpaying, they ended up owing me money. I have been chasing a refund for several months and finally got a letter telling me how much they owed me and that they would send a cheque.
We waited and waited, but no cheque, so I wrote to them and said that due to the delay in payment of the amount due, I had no choice but to increase the amount they owed me at the rate of 2% over bank rate, which was what I charged for loans!
To my utter amazement, I had a phone call apologising and have just received a cheque for the full amount I told them they now owed me.
Is this a first? It is for me!
