The 'Buy 2 New' on the right hand side refers to independent amazon sellers selling them at that price too, so its hard to say how many amazon have themselves.

If you're not fussy about colour, they are doing the 'clear' one for a pound cheaper - £33.97
  • to be honest the original GBA is pretty crap, you might as well get a cheap gba sp.

I got 2 of these when Amazon was doing then for £20 about a year ago. I gotta say, get a new one
  • I agree with redsquirrel. Especially look out for the GBA SP that has the new improved screen (the box will say this). It has a good backlit screen unlike the frontlit GBA SP that was originaly released.

I agree, but (a) each to their own and (b) a friend of mine was recently taking his three kids away for three weeks hols and he bought them one of these each and a handful of cheap games off ebay. apparently they had a wail of a time with them, so maybe they are not as pretty crap as we think.

An SP or micro is still close to twice the price of these, so there must be some merit in them, but if it were me i'd be finding the exta dosh.

The original GBA is very dark - we bought a light to go with ours and it is still rubbish - you can pick them up second hand in game for 19 pound or game station.

The gameboy sp you can get for 39 pound second hand in game or 59 from game station (the game station one came with a narnia game) This is a much better console.

We are looking for a cheap advanced sp or micro for my sons birthday so have become a bit obsessed with them!

The Micro is amazing. Genuinely portable (fits in your pocket) and the screen, despite being very small, is crystal clear and 100% playable. I've got a DS and a Micro and I always carry my Micro as it's so small you can take it anywhere.
    Titch :)
  • Where or what is mvc? Also looking for one for son's birthday and the cheapest I can get a micro is for about £60. Also anyone seen any of the new SP's with the backlit screen anywhere?

MVC are a high street store, part of the same group as Woolworths. They have a website but price is £70 on their, I seem to think that if they were seen instore for £41 then it may have been a store misprice, can anyone confirm?
