Help Regarding Housing Benefit

Hi
Quick question, I live in Croydon with my wife and 2 kids and have been on the Croydon council website and done the benefits calculator. It says we are entitled to 59 per week LHA housing allowance. Can this be right as I never knew this existed. I earn 28k a year and my wife isn't earning or claiming jobseekers as not long had our 2nd child. If it is right, does it mean they will effectively give me £236 every 4 weeks towards the rent?
I'm over the moon if this is the case so can anyone confirm for me please?
Cheers
Kevin

How much is the total possible LHA, and how many bedrooms are you entitled to?Gone ... or have I?0
-
unless your older child is over 10 you will have the entitlement for LHA for a 2 bedroom which comes out about 625 per month - you need to plug this number in the tool. I tried your figs (but obviously only what you gave above) and it said £12 per week0

We are entitled to a 2 bedroom as there is me and my wife and 2 kids under 2. The median amount for a 2 bedroom in our geographical area according to the LHA website is £850 per month. I've put the figures in a few times with slight alterations and is always around 55 -59 per week. Seems too good to be true!0

you were right re the median - I had looked at the wrong figure
I have heard people say before that these may not be 100% accurate but reckon it is worth a shot ... they can only say no!0 -
They're not accurate at all and entitledto.com is worse than useless. You're best getting to talk to someone and have them put the figures into the computer - they'll be able to tell you the answer there and then.0

know what you mean about entitledto.com I put in our current circumstances and it tells me I get no child tax credit even though we get 86 a month. Pointless waste of time, just hoping the council's one is more accurate!0
