WC broken - how do i invoke bathstore warranty

We had a new bathroom installed in the summer - from Bathstore - and have been generally very pleased. However we have had intermittant problems with the wc refusing to flush. Needless to say, when we got the installer round, it worked perfectly. Now it has packed up completely. The original installer is on a job on the other side of London and cannot get to us for a few days - fortunately we have a spare loo we can use.

So I thought I would contact Bathstore about how to invoke the warranty - it is guaranteed for 12 months - as I do not want to be told I have somehow broken the warranty terms. The original invoice says write to Bathstore if this happens, without giving an address. The website says contact the store, the store has its answerphone permanently on with a message saying all the staff are busy.

Unfortunately the store is not easily accessible from here by public transport - and I do not have access to our car today. Has anyone invoked a Bathstore warranty successfully and if so how did you do it?

  • Have you tried emailing customer services?

As well as sending an email, try ringing another store...

For those interested, I rang my local bathstore several times and eventually spoke to a sales assistant who gave me the number for their central technical support. I rang that and spoke to someone who sounded like a plumber and asked me to do some tests on it. He diagnosed the part was faulty and said he would get a new one sent to the branch. (The faulty one had a syphonic valve and some sort of "bladder" which was sticking and these have been replaced with a push button type system connected to the wc handle -so I think it must be a common problem). The parts did indeed turn up at the branch a few days later and were free of charge but I did still have to get my plumber back to fit the new part. And I had to pay him to do it.
