Integral kitchen appliances - to buy from Howdens or not??

I have heard through this site that integral appliances are cheaper to source independantly. I have been quoted from Howdens for dishwasher, double oven, hob, fridge freezer. Is it true that the appliances that Howden supply are only ones to fit their units?? Example of cost for double oven is £600 approx, £300 for dishwasher approx. Is this something to look at on the internet?? If I knew the aggro that this kitchen is causing would I do it again???!!!!!

I've got a Howdens kitchen and didn't buy their appliances as I don't think they're good value for money. I don't have an integrated fridge freezer or dishwasher, but I do have a built in double oven and separate hob, and bought these separately. They fit the units fine - they're all standard sizes, and Howdens really don't mind if you just tell them you're sourcing your own appliances.

Thanks for that, I have just been looking on line at Appliance City and rather than the Stoves? oven I can get Smeg for the same price and it looks good too!0
