food grade Blue Barrels where from?
Options
Hey guys first post been lurking for a while on all the site.
anyway i have seen Food Grade blue barrels sold on ebay as water butts, i will be using the water i collect to top up and maintain my pond as well as watering the plants, i have been told to be sure you dont kill aquatic life it has to be virgin plastic (hdpe) which wont leach contaminants, now this is food grade stuff and used to transport all sorts.
now the question, does anyone know where i can get a few from the Wigan / manchester area as on ebay they are £12 per 1 plus £10 postage which i can not bring myself to pay!!
cheers

I got four from freecycle, apparantly they have to pay to dispose of them so a very nice person even delivered them to my house. I live in Shrewsbury however it may be worth putting a request on your local free-cycle group and seeing what you get. Good luck :-)0

After searching like you on ebay and elsewhere I found the price including delivery was near enough the same as the plastic butts sold for purpose.
Wickes do a nice biggish one for about £21.00 and their tap and pipe converter were really cheap too.
In the end my DS bought me a butt including all the bits and stand for Christmas at £25.00 from Argos! He paid a fiver for delivery but you may be able to get them for store pick up.
Sometimes it's actually cheaper once you calculate all the faffing about to just go for the best deal on the market.
