Natwest Solo Upgrade Problems

I have a Solo card on 2 Natwest accounts, the original Step account and the current account. I was advised when I upgraded that I would get a Solo card initially and then after 6 months a Switch card would automatically be sent out to me. I use the original Step as a bills account and the current account as a spend account. 6 months gone and went into branch as not heard anything - now told its reviewed after 3 months and advised wrongly and that I didn't meet the criteria yet but they couldnt say why. The new current account hasnt gone over, money paid in every month, direct debits set on it. I was advised to check my credit rating. True my credit rating isnt great thats why initially got a Step account and working my way back. But surely this goes on your record with Natwest? Also I was advised once that by having a STEP account still open this will cause problems when applying for products eg. switch card. as its seen as a risk account. Anybody had any similiar experiences???

I had a CCJ when I opened my step account. Only had £30 a week going in. Later they gave me a Current Account, with Meastro. CCJ has now dropped off my credit file (had been on there 6 years) They offered me a review, gave me a First Reserve Savings Account linked to their Mastercard. Not perfection, but I've never given them any reason to doubt my ability to pay.0
