a few things you can do that might straighten it out.
1. disconnect the mains power and take out the battery for a couple of minutes and then start up again on mains
2. Load the default settings in the BIOS - usually to get into the bios you tap F10 or one of those keys. To reload the BIOS default setting once you're in, hit F9 and select yes and then F10 and go for save changes and exit.
3. The last thing to try is to remove the hard drive (some laptops let you slide it out) and pop in back in after a minute or so (you'll need to remove the battery and mains power when you're doing this)
Give this a shot and see how you get on.0 -
What sort of blue screen is it? (sounds like a silly question, but it's not). Is it all blue, or blue with white text? If it's blue with white text, try hitting the pause/break key as soon as it appears and note exactly what the text says.
If you have a bootable CD, try booting from it and see if the error still occurs - this would tell you if it's a problem with the hard disk.
Does this happen regardless of whether you're plugged in to the mains or not?

It's plugged into the mains.
tried the pause button but did not pause.
yes it's white writing with the blue screen.
boot from cd-still the problem remains.
Would pc world be able to fix it?
if so how much would it be?0 -
Try safe mode, F8 at boot.. If it stops the problem, it's probably a software issue. If it still continues, try reseating the RAM.
Whe you say it happens booting from a CD, which CD, what happens?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
