Google Eatrh playing up. Help please.

I am trying to use Google earth and when it pans in to the UK it stops and the turns off the monitor for a few seconds then it comes on and the screen is green and then it is as if it is in safe mode ?? all icons are larger. After I restart my computer tells me I have had a serious problem. Any ideas, thanks in advance. Ps it was working fine a couple of weeks ago, I have deleted it and reinstalled it but it is still the same ??? 
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:
