Hi guys
Many thanks to all who have contributed.
I've taken the valve off & opened it up.
There was some gunk on the cogs that circulate to open & close the vale, so I cleaned it & lubricated it.
However it still won't play so I can only conclude the microswitch connection is knackered, & will need replacing.
I've put a manual timer on the plug so that at least I can time it to some extent & not have the pump on all the time.
