Carpet off-cut

Hello,
can someone advise us please?
We had a bedroom carpet fitted earlier in the week and we were wondering if we are entitled to have had the off-cuts?
Its not that we are being tight, but it was quite a large piece and it would have done an area in the garage quite nicely.
thanks

You should be entitled to it as you've paid for it.
Did you ask for it?I haven't got one!0 -
Yes, you should have been left the cut off.
We use an independent family run carpet shop and they will whip and fringe off cuts free of charge if the piece taken off is because of fitted wardrobes or chimney breasts or suchlike.0 -
Did they take it thinking they were doing you a favour and you never questioned it or did you ask for it and they refused?Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

You paid for it, so my stance would be that they should not have removed it without your permission. thanks for the replies.
We didn't notice that we were not left it till a few days later, we thought it was with all the bits of our old carpet in a pile in the garage.
We phoned the company yesterday and they pretty much said its too late and that the 'off-cut' has probably already been dumped! I bet its being used elsewhere. its easliy big enough for a small bedroom/boxroom.
Never mind you live and learn don't you:(0 -
Probably in the fitters spare bedroom by now.
I use offcuts and old carpets to damp down weeds on the veg garden. Now rubber backed carpet as I heard it was discouraged now.Love living in a village in the country side0
