Hi, don't know where to post this, got an email from Abbey titled "your account may have been compromised, read carefully", it then asks to update account details to provide extra security etc etc.....problem being I do not and never have had an account of any sort with Abbey?! Should I just delete and be unconcerned or could they have sent this to the wrong email address meaning someone else hasn't got it? It has come from a no reply email.
Also wondering how they ever got my email in the first place?

Just delete it and forget about it.
It's a phishing scam, just trying to get peoples log on details. This will have been sent to millions of people in the hope that one might be an Abbey customer who is gullible.
I got one today as well, and have also never had an Abbey account.Wha's like us - damn few, an' they're a' deid

yep delete it
if ever you get a similar mail from somewhere you do bank , again delete it and if you have concerns look up the banks phone number and contact them , dont ever call any numbers in a email as they may well be dodgy0 -
Both myself and my dad got this email too
I also received 3 automated phone calls - stating that it was Abbey calling and wanting me to input my details
I think Abbey do have a message on their site saying that they will never contact anyone by email or phone in this way, asking for you to input your account details.0 -
LTSB have ceased sending all unsolicited emails for a couple of months..0

yes if you have online banking NEVER go through to your bank website through a link in an email you receive and then log in, if you do this the scammers get hold of your log in and will empty your accounts and you will get no comeback from the bank and it is seen that you have willingly given your secure details awayAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00
