OK, story so far.... I'm on Skytalk Evening & weekend
Sky block 1280, so I decide to go back to BT's evening & weekend offering, I sign up on 24/11.
I then discover Sky will charge an extra £5 PM for broadband if you don't take Skytalk, so I decide to cancel my order with BT & stick with Sky & have to pay for caller display with BT. I ring them on 4/12 & they can find no trace of the order on my account & confirm I'm on line rental only. Great, I think.
What should land on the doormat today? A letter from BT welcoming me to free evening & weekends & by the way you can't cancel without a penalty as it started on 10/12 .
So I need to contact BT to sort thisout. I checked the offer terms which say
As far as I'm concerned I cancelled on 4/12. Anyone have any pointers to the best dept/menu option to go for when I call? I aint happy!

You can cancel your order, free of charge, before we have provided the service. If you cancel your order after we provide the service you will incur an early termination charge. This charge will be based on the outstanding minimum period of your 12 or 18 month term.

your stuck with the contract im afraid as it starts from the day you agree to take it. Your not paying any extra though so as long as you keep the line with BT you will be ok to keep sky talk. just remember to cancel the BT renewable contract at the end of the term as it automatically renews.0

Are you sure? I'd have thought CPS would be cancelled & calls would go through BT? That said I did do an 0845 call as a test last night & it doesn't show in my BT recent calls list online. I don't think Sky show recent calls online, they only show what's on your bill.0 -
The right to cancel ends at the same time the call ends.If the package is cancelled after then cherges apply.unless mis sold
YOUREDS.
the cps order to bring calls back to BT and the calling plan order a 2 separate orders. cps take 2 weeks to come off but call plans apply straight away.
There are 2 orders each with different terms
BT say and also state in confirmation letter that once provided the contract cant be stopped without penalty.
There is a lot of confusion around cps customer coming back to BT and then cancel the order as the 2 dates are different.(cps 2 weeks calling plan immediate contract.
main point is the plan costs nothing so and you cant cancel it costs nowt to keep it on bt account and you can stay with cps Just remember it renews so cancel renew or have the whole issue start again for another year.0 -

I sort of see what you mean. Contract started 10/12, Sky have written saying that they're sorry to see me leave & CPS ends on 24/12. So could I contact BT & tell them not to stop CPS with Sky?0 -
yes you can stop the cps cease but cant stop the BT contract as thats applied there and then.
As long as you keep your line rental with BT no charges apply you will just have charges and credits on your BT bill to cover the offer of free evening and weekend plan.
This is happening a lot due to sky cps customers agreeing to come back to BT and the free evening and weekend plan then getting a letter from sky saying broadband is increasing because cps is being ceased.
Because the letter arrives after customers agree to take BT contract (which applies at point of agreement) customers want to cancel and i agree as no one wants to pay more for a service.0 -

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

So, the easy option here is to let CPS/WCLI with Sky lapse on 24/12, & then sign up again for Skytalk, calling plan is still with BT, so no change & I get a free printer to sell on ebay which will offset the caller display charge.

yes thats right BT are a bit slack with the offers just not with the contract charges so remember if you cancel within the contract period even though it cost nothing you will be charged.
I got the free printer and ive not got cps just ticked the box online to say i did agreed to free mobile saver and evening and weekend calls at no extra cost and 7 days later got the printer.
Its worth noting i tried with my sisters line later and it only offered upgrade to anytime 12 month contract so i think this loophole is closed0
