Washing Machine insurance? - is it worth it?

Hello all.
Currently I have washing machine insurance with domestic and general for about £85 a year paid quarterly.
I am thinking of cancelling, as Im not sure it's worth it, but our machine is about 6 years old now and i am worried it's going to break down and we wont be able to afford to have it repaired. should i cancel or get a new policy(can you even get a policy for a machine thats so old?)
any insurance advice would be appreciated. any cash that i can save to pay back my debts would be useful!!
Thanks you lovely people!
Marianne

I would cancel it. Washing machine insurancee is a waste of money. Our last washer only cost £200 from "the baragin basement" at scottish power, should have been £375, but had a couple of scratches on top! (Goes under worktop anyway)
So to pay £85 per insurance is a con! It will only cover certain parts anyway. Get it cancelled.0 -
put the money away instead and when it needs repairing use that money to have it repaired / replaced.0
