Problem with boot sequence on pc

I have a external hard drive and when its plugged in my computer tries to boot from it and goes no further

I have to use reset button and unplug said hard drive.

Then when i boot it starts fine, but it does say on startup boot from CD is that right?

I gather i might need to change boot sequence but don't know how

I have just had somebody install me a new video card and maybe thats when it changed.

Can anyone help please.

Just go into the BIOS, it could be F2/F9/F10/F12 or the DEL key at start up, depending on make.

Then look for the option that says BOOT or depending on the BIOS could be hidden under another submenu, such as SYSTEM CONFIGURATION.

Disable all boot options other than the primary inbuilt HDD. You can change the boot order, but I prefer to turn them all off.
