cancelling credit cards

Options
Hi there

Could I have some advice aboiut cancelling credit cards after the 0% balance tranfer priods end.

I have realised I have 2 cards not in use for some time now (mint and MBNA) that I am wondering weather to cancel or not.

Would they be likely to offer 0% balance transfers again on these or am I best to cancel them and reapply if I need them.
Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

Slow down speed kills.

  • Ring the companies up. Tell them you want to cancel. When (or if) they ask 'why?', tell them that you want to cancel the card because you want to apply for further 0% cards to transfer a balance. Some may offer you an additional 0% offer - if they don't, then cancel the card.

MBNA frequently make repeat 0% or low rate BT offers; I haven't known Mint do so.
