Royal Mail

Hello,
I know Royal mail are extra busy this time of the year but i was wondering if any one knows how much of a delay there it?
I have 4 items from eBay (sellers say they have all been sent) which i would have expected at the beginning of the week, 3 items from amazon all estimated to be here yesterday and a firebox item i thought should be here now:confused:.

Am not moaning about rm i am just nervous,we go away to relatives for Christmas Saturday afternoon and am praying they are here on time. I know its my own fault for shopping last minute isn't it.:o

I am in London and am having letters arrive to me about 2 or 3 days later then they normally would (bills etc) I am also getting cards that people have said "I have just sent your card" and received them, with their first class stamp, a full 7 days later.

There is no real way to know if its RM being slow or the companies and my friends are trying to remind themselves they need to buy, write and post all their cards but it does seem a coincidence that I am experiencing delays with both parties!

Have no clue with the others, but i know amazon were slow getting books out to me that i had ordered, as i pick my mail up from delivery office (and work there) i know exactly when it arrives. You could also try calling your local delivery office on the off chance that there's anything there for you, just in case the dog has ate your card or the postie run out of cards etc

I might try calling the sorting office tomorrow if nothing turns up today :) Thanks
  • I would say about 75% of my sales are taking around the 10 day mark to be delivered. I wish some of my buyers would realise busy christmas period for the post office does not mean instant delivery!
  • My parcels that I sent, presents for family, took 3 days for first class and 7 days for second class.

    Good luck

I'm waiting for a small ebay packet that was sent first class on Thursday... not arrived yet so that's a whole week. Seller has confirmed again that it was sent first class.

  • I'm getting letters OK but parcels seem to be taking forever - I'm waiting for ebay stuff too that was posted at the weekend, & one on Friday, all first class.

Very nerve wracking, I thought I'd left plenty of time. It wasn't this bad last year.

But what's even more weird is that I've just received a ring I bought on ebay yesterday!!! Sent first class - took a day
