my lovely sister new to computers is receiving spam from her self?her email adress etc, how can she stop this? she has mcfee installed etc.
my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!

It's ~possible~ that her computer has been compromised and has malware on it. There's plenty of advice in the stickies at the top of this board on how to check that.
More likely, someone who she knows who has her email address in their address book has malware, and is part of a spamming botnet.
If the latter, there's not much she can do, though some email clients have filters which will permit a rule to be set up to simply delete the emails as they arrive.0 -
I get about 10 emails from myself everyday it's all junk. I dunno how spammers do it but they spoof the mail sender to look like it's from your own email.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I send myself emails all the time
I am Billy no mates
Its low lifers who forge the headers to spam you or using your pc as a spam bot0 -
it is usually spoofing
make sure you have a good av and firewall0
