BT Yahoo

I have BT Broadband, now BT Yahoo, I got a mail on Wednesday asking me to change certain settings on Outlook/Outlook Express as they were changing the security settings today.

I followed the instructions and everything was fine until yesterday when my send/receive command gave errors which indicated that the new settings where the problem.

I can get email as webmail and that works fine but I have used Outlook for many years and I like it and I want to keep using it.

Any way I sent a message via the web to BTYahoo who up to now, 30 plus hours later, have not responded. Last night I managed to get through to tech support after 15 mins where I was told "we don't support Outlook". After a couple of suggestions which I had already tried I got the "we don't support Outlook" line again. So I asked to speak to a supervisor, guess what he said? You're right "we don't support Outlook". I explained that their changes have caused me a problem but he wouldn't accept that. I agreed to set up the email account again from the beginning which I did and it worked. That was last night, now it doesn't because they have made the changes. I have sent a mail to complains@btyahoo.com address given by the supervisor, that was about 8pm last night but I have had no response. Anyone got any ideas or should I be getting a new ISP?

I had numerous run ins with BT Yahoo trying to get my Broadband connected. I spent 6 hours on the phone to the "Helpdesk" 90% of which was waiting to speak to someone i.e. on hold - so don't expect a speedy reply!

This is very strange actually because I just opened Outlook to have another go at getting the settings sorted and it downloaded all my mail from yesterday and today so I am quite happy now. However I would like a reply an appology would be nice ( bet I don't get one).

I use outlook on my Yahoo broadband - you need to check your bulk mail settings (cant remember how you do this off top of my head) as I found to start with that all my read receipts were sent there, not to my inbox!

I just pop in now and then.... :)
